Evidation Health, a Rock Health company, began as a collaboration between GE Ventures and Stanford Health Care in 2012. Their goal is to demonstrate better health outcomes for clinical and economic utility studies with new approaches to predictive analytics. They set out to understand the data that exists within these studies and creatively applied modern thinking and software to make their results better, faster, more cost effective, and actionable. Evidation manages these studies in digital health and pharma to provide value for the patient, the provider and the payer. The outcomes of their studies offers the ability for payers to understand what works before deploying something new to their members, and for providers to assess and understand risk for their patients in real-time.
We had the privilege of speaking with the President of Evidation, Christine Lemke, about the company's vision for creating better healthcare outcomes -- and how our APIs fit into the equation. This is their PokitStory.
PokitDok: When Evidation first started, what were you looking for to make your solution a vision to reality?
Christine: When we were first building Evidation, we had a really hard time figuring out how to obtain a patient or participant's permission to access specific data and then retrieve that data in an automated fashion. At the time, no company was really doing that. When we met with PokitDok, the team suggested a really creative solution using your APIs and it was off to the races from there. We were about to embark on a whole manual process in retrieving the data so it really worked when PokitDok was able to help us and make our time more efficient.
PokitDok: How do you measure your success and also, the success of our partnership?
Christine: We measure our success by the number of participants in our studies. We do our best when PokitDok has coverage; and with 500+ payer connections, we're in pretty good shape. We are always transparent with your team so, if there's ever a connection your EDI team has yet to connect with, we simply make a request.
We also measure the responsiveness of PokitDok's APIs and by the accuracy of the data we collect. Both of these measures overall are great, which is vital because we care a lot of about the quality of our data and receiving it back in a timely matter.
PokitDok has done a really good job on all of these measures.
PokitDok: How has your relationship with us and functionality we allow made your company better and easier?
Christine: The relationship has been really good so far. We worked together on some customizations on both sides in order to support our use case. Ted, your CTO, was super responsive and the entire PokitDok technical team was really helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. Overall, really clear lines on we would have to do and what PokitDok would have to do made it easy and efficient to plan ahead. We really appreciate the communication and clarity and the team is very happy with the amount of support we received for our unusual use case.
PokitDok: Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Christine: We always recommend PokitDok both for the service and for quality of your platform. Your team is always expanding coverage and adding more trading partners everyday, which really helps us. Your response time and data quality are excellent and we so appreciate the creative camaraderie of your team. You guys have been super supportive of Evidation and we thank you for your help.
